Fresh Seafood

Living on on the ocean and in a city with an active sea port provides the opportunity for plenty of fresh seafood.  We eat lots of fish all year but especially when we are in Mazatlan.  Early this morning I went one of the local fish markets about eight miles from our condo, to buy some dorado (mahi mahi).   Dorado means "golden" in Spanish and the dorado has a golden glimmer.  In the seafood market I selected a whole fish and it is filleted for me while I waited.  While waiting, I looked over the large fresh shrimp they had in a cooler.  They looked very fresh, so I ordered 2 kilo (4.4 lbs).  The shrimp were $86 pesos per kilo, so the total was $172 (MX) or $13.20 (US).  When I got home I removed the heads, shells, deveined the shrimp and placed them in the refrigerator for cooking tonight on the grill.  I cooked all the shrimp on the grill tonight with a little olive oil and garlic.  We have enough left for at least 2 more meals for the two of us.
